Not Receiving or Sending Emails

Step 1: Check the state that outlook is in:


Trying to connect 1
This state means that Outlook is currently trying to connect to Microsoft Exchange. If Outlook is stuck in this state try closing and opening Outlook.

State 2:

Trying to connect 2
If Outlook is found in the disconnected state it can be one of 2 causes:

    Cause 1: There is currently no Internet connectivity.
    Cause 2: Your Office 365 password has expired. Go to step 2.

State 3:

Trying to connect 3
If Outlook is connected and you are not receiving or sending emails, try closing and opening Outlook to see if the state changes.

Send a test email and if it leaves your outbox, your emails are working as per normal.

Step 2: Check that your Office 365 password has not expired:

Open you Internet browser and go to the Office 365 portal following one the following steps:

         1. Go to                          Move your mouse over login

Select Office 365 portal

Trying to connect 5

Paste into your browsers URL:
Trying to connect 5 5
Sign in with your Office 365 credentials

Trying to connect 6
One of 2 screens will open once you have signed in with the correct credentials.

  1. If you are brought to the screen where you are required to change your password this means your password has expired. After changing your password open Outlook and enter your new password.
  2. If you are brought to the screen displaying all your emails this means your password is valid. Reopen Outlook and check the state that outlook is in.

Step 3: If none of the above resolved your issue contact ITC support.
